This past Monday, we held our first fundraiser with Dog Days of Charlotte at Hattie’s Tap and Tavern in Charlotte, NC. I’ve fostered dogs in the past with Dog Days, it’s a top-notch organization and I wanted to share their message with some of the yoga community in Charlotte.
The event itself was a smashing success! Local yogis came through, showing up in force to the free yoga class. They donated over 60 pounds of dog food, treats, leashes, collars and more. Dog Days also raised over $100 in cash for their organization by selling merchandise and holding a raffle. The back patio at Hattie’s provided a great atmosphere for the outdoor class, where we practiced in the beautiful sunshine. Meanwhile, Dog Days set up a table inside and brought some foster dogs to get some love and affection. People brought their dogs to play, and Hattie’s offered stellar service and drink specials for everyone.
A little bit more about Dog Days of Charlotte – it’s a registered non-profit in North Carolina that specializes in getting dogs out of kill shelters and into temporary foster homes while they wait for a forever home. They also coordinate with other no-kill rescue groups across the eastern U.S. to transport dogs to places where they have an opportunity to find a loving home.

And of course, a very special thank you to all of the local yogis who came out to support foster dogs in Charlotte. We couldn’t have done such a great thing for those dogs without you.
Check out some pictures from the wonderful event below. Everyone had a great time and we can’t wait to do it again!
Namaste,
